At Scottish Fuels, we’ve always been passionate about safety. And looking after Scotland’s most vulnerable people is part of that. It’s why we offer a Cold Weather Priority service, and, more recently, why we did our bit for care homes.
Throughout the pandemic, we’ve seen just how effective personal protective equipment (PPE) is for frontline key workers. We wanted to make a difference to our community, so we got our thinking caps on. We decided our time would be best spent donating PPE kits to care homes and charitable hospices.
Managing Director Steve Taylor says: “We’re always looking for ways to support our local communities. The most important consideration for us was to make sure our contributions went directly to the people who needed them most during this time.
“That’s why, rather than making a financial contribution, we donated PPE kits to care homes and charitable hospices.”
From the heart
Many employees at Scottish Fuels have loved ones, family and friends living in care homes. Based on this, we let our colleagues decide where should receive the donations, helping to protect residents across Scotland, England and Wales.
Our teams personally delivered the PPE kits in a COVID-safe manner. While this may sound like a small contribution, we wanted to do something that made a difference locally. We understand the risks that key workers face every day, so it’s the Scottish Fuels’ way of saying thank you.
